Syria asks WHO to send a fact-finding commission to occupied Palestinian,Syrian lands

Syria on Thursday asked World Health Organization to send a fact-finding commission to the occupied Palestinian and Syrian territories to be acquainted with the fact of healthy conditions there and to guarantee the medical assistance to reach to the Arab inhabitants under the occupation.
During the 58th World Health Assembly, currently in session in Geneva, Syria's Permanent Representative in Geneva, Bashar al-Jafari said " The foreign occupation is rejected by the international community .. (and) the deteriorated health condition of the Palestinians is crystal clear."
Earlier, the 58th session of WHA depended a decision entitled ' Healthy Conditions in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and the Occupied Syrian Golan'.
The decision urged Director General of the WHO to present a report on the economic and health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories in addition to offering technical aids in the health field to the Arab inhabitants in the occupied Syrian Golan.
The decision also called for evaluation of the healthy impacts resulted from x-rays equipment which Israel is using on border's crossing points and asked Israel to turn away from its practices of burying nuclear waste in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The WHO decision was adopted by the majority of 95 votes, 11 members abstained, 54 states were absent, while 8 states voted against the report.
