Assassinated representative of Ali al-Seistani buried in a large funeral

While controversy continued over the side responsible for the assassinations and acts armed operations in Iraq which threaten to push the country towards a sectarian war, gunmen killed a senior official in the Iraqi ministry of oil in Baghdad on Thursday. Ali Hameed was killed outside his house in Baghdad while trying to head for his work.

The Iraqi police said that three gunmen killed a university teacher near his house in Baghdad on Thursday. The police added that a bomb was implanted on the roadside detonated on Thursday and killed two police men in Baqouba to the north east of Baghdad.

Other four bodies were found on Thursday to the south of Tikrit city. The police said the bodies were for persons killed by bullets.

In Musil, a medical source said that two persons were killed when one bomb went off before its set time in the car they were riding.

The Iraqi authorities said that four soldiers from the Iraqi army were kidnapped on Thursday at dawn at Beiji to the north of Baghdad. In Samera, the local police said that one police officer and his son were killed by bullets as they were traveling in their car.

In Baghdad, the body of the representative of Ali al-Seistani was buried in a large funeral on Thursday. His relatives said gunmen assassinated him at the southern entrance of Baghdad. Sheikh Muhammad Teher al-Allaq was killed on Wednesday while he was heading in his car to the downtown of Baghdad in Jerf al-Naddaf area.
