Amr Salama: Egypt, Ukraine cooperation to manfacture two satellites

Egypt's Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Amr Salama, said yesterday that the Egyptian space programme is proceeding according to schedule in cooperation with the National Space Agency of Ukraine.

Egypt has previously signed a protocol with Ukraine for the manufacture of two satellites.

Salama dismissed reports circulated previously by the News Agency of Russia (ITAR -TASS) about Egypt annulling the protocol it signed with Ukraine and signing a new one with the Russian Space Agency instead.

Salama added that the Egyptians and the Russians only discussed ways of benefiting from Russian expertise in the field of space during Russian President Vladimir Putin's latest visit to Egypt.
