Over 300 meningitis cases recorded annually in Morocco

Some 360 meningitis cases are recorded annually in the kingdom, including deadly cases that represent 5 to 10% of people affected by the disease, said, here Wednesday, Health minister, Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah.
Speaking at the House of representatives question-time, Biadillah said his ministry controls the disease development through regional observatories.
The best treatment to this illness consists of purifying the respiratory system, a World Health Organisation method adopted in Morocco, he said noting that vaccination is key element in treating some types of this disease.
