Zaki names squad for WC/ACN 2006 qualifications

Moroccan team manager Badou Zaki unveiled Tuesday, the list of 24 players who will play the upcoming World cup and African Cup of Nations qualifying matches.
Speaking at a press briefing, Zaki said the Moroccan squad will play the upcoming matches to get six points and maintain the pole position.
The Moroccan side will kick off a training camp in the national soccer centre of Maamoura, close to Rabat, on May 29 to warm up for their encounter with Malawi on June 4 in Rabat. The Moroccan team will undertake another training camp June 7-14 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) before flying to Nairobi to take on Kenya on June 18.
The team list does not include capital changes, as a result of the great performance of the Atlas Lions who are still unbeaten after six games, top Group 5 with a tally of 12 points ahead of Kenya (9 points in 5 matches), Tunisia (8 points in 5 matches), Guinea (8 points), Botswana (6 points), and Malawi (3 points).
The only changes are the comeback of Perugia's Defender Jamal El-Allioui, Energie Cottbus's midfielder Youssef El-Mokhtari and RC Strasbourg's Yassine Abdessadki, while Ajax Amsterdam's striker Noureddine Boukhari, Wydad Casablanca midfielder Abdelhak Ait La‰rif, Raja Casablanca midfielder Sami Tajeddine and German-based striker Abdelaziz Ahnafouf are dropped from the line-up.
