20 gunmen killed in armed violent clashes in Musil

The Iraqi police said on Tuesday that the American force supported by helicopters clashed with some 80 gunmen in Musil city in the north of Iraq.
A spokesman for the police said that the clashes resulted in killing at least 20 gunmen after the American helicopters bombarded two houses where they were hiding, noting that these gunmen had fled with other 60 from al-Qaem area on the Iraqi- Syrian borders which had witnessed fierce confrontations last week.
Meantime, attacks continued in various parts in Iraq, the last of which was the killing of one American soldier and injuring another one in a bomb explosion in Tikrit to the north of Baghdad.
In another development, an Iraqi soldier was killed in a bike explosion at a joint inspection point for the American army and the Iraqi army in al-Touz area to the north of Baghdad. In Karkouk a source in the police said that one officer was killed and two police men were injured in an attack at an inspection point in the downtown of the city. At the same inspection point, one of the soldiers opened fire at a speedy car and killed three Iraqis while the fourth was injured.
