Arab Journalists Union deplore journalists killing in Iraq
Iraq-USA, Politics, 5/18/2005

The Cairo-based Arab Journalists Union vehemently condemned "practices of killings and arrests adopted by the American forces against Arab and foreign journalists in Iraq, pointing out that these practices aimed at preventing the journalists from conveying the truth or introducing the Arab and international public opinion to what is going on there."

The union, in a statement published Tuesday, called for intensified Arab and international efforts to protect the journalists from the crimes of the American forces in Iraq and enabling them to perform their missions. It noted that more than 100 journalists are killed since the beginning of the American occupation of Iraq.
