Industry congress in syria to develop national industry, today

More than 500 Syrian industrialists form the private sector are going to gather tomorrow in Damascus in the first industrial conference Syria is hosting to develop national industry and to discuss effect of Syrian-EU partnership on Syrian industry.

"The first industrial conference is to pinpoint the most remarkable problems facing the Syrian industry in light of big requirements the Syrian economy is passing through," SANA said today.

Private sector investments in Syria in the industrial domain brought SP 200 billion to Syria last year the matter that stresses this sector development and its contribution to the process of economic growth Syria is witnessing.

Syria's industrial product reaches to about 27% of the GDP which means it constitutes SP 350 billion. The Syrian industrial sector contains 3,5 million worker.

Partakers are to present suggestions to improve the national industry in various fields and the effect of the Syrian-EU partnership on the national industry, the report said.
