Syrian invention conserves 90% of agricultural waters
Syria, Science, 5/18/2005
A Syrian citizen created a new irrigation system for plants especially trees so as to reach waters to its roots directly. This resulted in water conservation of 90%.
The new irrigation system by Ahmad Badran, which is adopted by WIPO ( World Intellectual Property Organization) in Geneva, is also characterized by eliminating unwanted weeds. The Syrian ministry of agriculture said that according to this invention, trees can be planted in the mountainous areas and any form of soils need not to be reclaimed.
Several Arab scientific sides recommended the adoption of this system to implement it in planting desert lands which suffer desertification in the Arab region.
