European observer to monitor the Lebanese elections

Observers from the EU were deployed in various parts of Lebanon in preparations for the Lebanese parliamentary elections which will be held on phases starting as from May 29 at a time when the formation of election lists has formed in Beirut district area where the elections will start.
The chairman of the EU observers team Jose Salafranka said that 26 observers were deployed in various parts of Lebanon and those will be backed by other 50 next week to reach in all by the end 100 observers.
Spanish parliamentarian in the European parliament said in a press conference in Beirut that the presence of the observers will be a guarantee for more transparency and independence in Lebanon's elections. This comes following the end of the Syrian presence in Lebanon
