Discovered bodies in Baghdad are for the Sunni, 12 killed in attacks

Chairman of the Sunni Waqf court Adnan Muhammad Salman disclosed that the bodies found in Baghdad are for Muslim Sunnis detained from their houses or the mosques. He called on the Iraqi government to shed light on the implication of these crimes.

The Sunni official explained in a press conference that the two last days witnesses throwing bodies for people "who were detained from their houses or the mosques of the Sunni community especially in al-Shaab area or Or quarters ( north east of Baghdad) or in Jakouk area ( north west of Baghdad)."

The Sunni Waqf officials accused implicitly the Iraqi security forces of being behind these acts. He said that "what is done by the national guards and the police forces have become known for all." He appealed the prime minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari to stand in the face of those who want to provoke sedition in the country." Earlier, the Iraqi police announced finding the bodies of 12 Iraqis who were all killed by bullets in the north east of the capital. The police said that the authorities found the bodies in a mass grave during night.

In light of the recent attacks against mosques, the Iraqi defense minister Sadoun al-Duleimi called the Iraqi army forces to halt the breaking in operations of the Sunni mosques and the Shiite religious sites and the Christian churches.

Concerning the security situation, sources in the al-Mustansereyah university said that two of the university employees were killed and other 12 students were injured as one mortar that fell inside the University courtyard in Bab al-Mu'azem area in the downtown of Baghdad.

Sources at the Iraqi ministry of the interior said that 12 Iraqis were killed including four soldiers while other 8 were injured in attacks covered Baghdad, Baqouba in the north east of Baghdad.

In al-Sedeyah area to the south of Baghdad, two Iraqis were killed and other 4 injured including two members of the national guards in a bomb explosion.

In Baqouba, one officer in the Iraqi army said that four mortars fell at the headquarters of the Iraqi army in Khan Bani Saad area ( 20 Km to the south of Baqouba ) and this resulted in injuring three soldiers followed by an armed clash with the executors of the attack. Four soldiers were killed when one mortar went off thrown by the attackers.

In another development, the Iraqi army stressed that three Iraqis working for the Kuwaiti al-Ra'ey TV were killed in the south of Baghdad.

Concerning the kidnapping operations in Iraq, one armed Iraqi group announced the kidnapping of two drivers, one of them is a Palestinian working for a foreign company in Iraq. The gunman asked the company which was not named to halt its works within 24 hours otherwise "an iron fist will be used." Within the same context, the Mufti of Australia Sheikh Taj Eddine al-Hilali said that the grace period given by the holders of the Australian hostage Douglas Wood in Iraq was extended "for unlimited period of time" in order to continue the negotiations. A group calling itself the Mujahideen Shoura council demanded the withdrawal of the Australian forces from Iraq for releasing the Australian hostage.
