Shaaban meets chairman of the Arab-Australian relations council

Syria has been playing an important role in the region and in the world, she also fully cooperates with the international community in order to achieve peace and stability in the region, Chairman of the Arab-Australian Relations Council Brandin Steuirt said Sunday, pointing out at Syria's role in fighting terrorism.
During a joint meeting Expatriate Minister Buthina Shaaban discussed with Steuirt ways of enhancing the bilateral relations between Syria and Australia in all fields.
The minister stressed the importance of the Arab-Australian Relations Council work and appreciated its main and important role regarding the Arab and Syrian expatriates in the Australian arena during the current situation.
"The council supports and deepens dialogue concepts among peoples and civilizations with the aim of achieving the just and comprehensive peace which is based on the international resolutions," she clarified, pointing out that the Australian society respects all cultures.
For his part Steuirt said that his visit to Syria aims at boosting cooperation opportunities between Australia and Syria " Particularly that Syria is walking with confident steps in the way of reform and development in all fields." He also hailed the positive role and efforts of the Syrian community in Australia to realize cooperation that covers scientific, economic and tourism fields between the two countries.
