Nadia Zein: WIB forum is an occasion to encourage investors, partnerships

The Damascus International Women in Business WiB Forum to be held on May 22 through 22 will be a meeting place for considerable number of Syrian- Arab and foreign business women to put their business experiences together for common interests.

Ms. Nadia Zein is a remarkable figure in Lattakia. She is a graduate of the American University of Beirut with a B.A. in Public Administration and a Teaching Diploma for the mentally disabled children.

"Wanting to put my education to good use, I joined our family business as I returned to Syria after 18 years of living abroad. "Zein Brothers And Co." as another staff member with little responsibilities involving little or no decision making," Ms Zein told ArabicNews.com Zein Brothers And Co. is a family group of companies established in Lattakia since 1924, involved in trading and industrial business in various fields, mainly: Foodstuff, Fodder, Packing And Distribution, Wood And Panels, Marble And Granite and Steel And Cement "Having proved myself within the group, I was promoted to become full partner and undertook the project for centralizing contract management across all the divisions of the company optimizing all resources in the most efficient manner," she said introducing herself as a businesswomen.

She detailed that the Execution Department which she manages at the company, has grown into becoming the backbone of all business conducted within the group. She continued that they start by receiving confirmation of purchase from any of the departments or companies within the group and follow up the details to conclusion. That is when shipments are safely in our warehouses and ready for distribution and local consumption. The success of the Execution Department continued with the growth of "Zein Brothers And Co.."

She said that by balancing her time as a married woman with two children, yet she is managing the work-home balance in a fair manner.

She expressed here conviction that men and women complete each other whether at work or at home, and when the woman works, she can create a home atmosphere where there is sharing of experiences and ideas with her husband and children.

With regards to the Women in Business International forum, she expressed her belief that the WIB Forum will be interesting and educational where Syrian business women will get the chance to meet other businesswomen with similar interests and share different experiences. Syrian businesswomen will also get the chance to meet potential suppliers and clients and expand our horizon.

This event will help encourage investors in the country, maybe allow for further partnerships between local and international companies. It will also generate new businesses and helpful contacts in the business world, Ms Zein hinted.
