Saad Eddin al-Hariri has announced the formation of al-Hariri family list which carries the name of his father Rafiq al-Hariri.
In a press conference he had held in Beirut on Sunday evening al-Hariri said that al-Hariri list will continue the march of his late father reflected in maintaining loyalty to Lebanon's Arab identity, protection of resistance in confrontation of Israel. He stressed that the list considers the Taif accord as the base on which dealing will be made with the Lebanese sides.
He stressed that the list will sue the criminal killers who assassinated his father and those behind him and stressed that al-Hariri blood will not go in vain.
The announcement of al-Hariri list came hours after the widow of the founder of the Lebanese forces Bashir al-Gemayel won the Maronite seat in Beirut in the framework of the elections due on May 29th.
The winning of Solanj al-Gemayel came after the withdrawal of the candidates for the seat George Teyan and Ghattas al-Khouri, the member in the bloc of Saad, the son of the late Lebanese prime minister Rafiq al-Hariri.
Al-Gemayel, the wife of the leader who was assassinated in 1982 before he had assumed presidency will join the list of al-Hariri family.
By having al-Gemayel winning the seat, number of winners within the three circles of Beirut increased to three. They are in addition to al-Hariri, Ghazi al-Areidi for the Druz seat and Ghazi Youssef for one of the two Shiite seats.
