Iraqi women are among the detainees of the American forces in Iraq
Iraq-USA, Politics, 5/16/2005

The Muslim Scholars Commission said that the American forces detained one woman during al-Qaem attack after her house was broken into and she was strongly beaten.

The commission said that the repeated acts of detentions in the lines of women at the hands of the occupation forces came for practicing pressure on their relatives to hand over themselves.

Earlier the commission issued a statement in which it said that the American forces detained seven women from one family from al-Taji area to the north of Baghdad. The commission also disclosed the detention of another woman in al-Ramadi area before the American forces were obliged to release them following acts of protest overwhelmed the city.

In the field of the detainees in the American jails in Iraq, a statement by the American army said that one Iraqi prisoner ( 30 year old) died on Saturday in prison of a heart attack in Buka camp to the south of Iraq. The prisoner was held in Buka since 2004 because he constituted a danger on Iraq, according to the statement.

On April 9th another Iraqi prisoner died ( 51 year old) in the same prison where some 6,000 Iraqis are held. The said prison witnessed three rebel operations at least since the beginning of the year, the last of which was in the mid of April after the killing of one prisoner at the hands of his colleague and injuring other 12.

A delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross ICRC visited the prison by the end of March and talked about complaints filed by the prisoners over conditions of their detention intents installed in the heart of the desert where it is very hot at day time and very cold at night.
