Al-Qathafi - Wade discuss strengthening the African Union

"The Leader of the revolution and his spouse received Friday evening President Abdullah Wade, President of Senegal, a member of the Conference of Leaders and Head of States, Cen-Sad, and his spouse," who arrived earlier Friday evening in Libya, JANA reported yesterday.

JANA added "The Leader and President Wade reviewed in the meeting, issues on the agenda of the forthcoming AU Summit in Serte. Emphasis were made on the importance of Great Jamahiriya proposals, adopted by AU Abuja Summit, on the consolidation and completing the structure of AU institutions, thereby creating AU ministries for foreign affairs, defense, foreign trade, transportation and communications, abolishing customs among AU member states, and unify custom tariffs in relation to other countries of the world, unifying all mean of communications and transportations, and establishing a unified African satellite."

"Following up work mechanism of the presidential committee, formed by Abuja summit, to study the proposals and prepare a study for their implementation, which will be presented to the African Union Summit, in Serte."

Meantime, JANA reported that "The Leader of the Revolution hosted a dinner banquet Friday night, welcoming the two presidents of Senegal Abdullah Wade and Mathieu Kerekou of Benin, both members of the Conference of Leaders and Head of States of Cen-Sad Community. The banquet was staged in front of the house of the Leader of the revolution which withstood the American - NATO failed aggression against the Jamahiriya in 1986."
