Morocco, Italy need to cooperate to face Chinese competition

President of an Italian Industries Confederation association, Vincenzo Bocchia, urged on Thursday for partnership between Moroccan and Italian companies to face the Chinese competition.
Speaking at a meeting of the two countries businessmen, "Assafrica And Mediterraneo" President said partnership is key to developing the Mediterranean region and facing the Asian challenge.
Describing Morocco as a platform to Italian investors on the South shore of the Mediterranean, Bocchia called Moroccan businessmen to promote the image of the kingdom as a country of diversified economic activities and not only as a tourist destination.
For his part, President of General Confederation of Moroccan Businessmen (French acronym CGEM), Hassan Chami welcomed the Italian will to establish economic partnerships in various fields notably in the new technology of information and communication, electromechanical engineering, maritime transports and textile.
Deploring the low volume of Italian investments in the kingdom, the Moroccan businessman called for identifying priority actions to build a strong partnership.
The Italian delegation to the meeting represents several major international companies in various sectors.
"Assafrica And Mediterraneo" is an association of the Italian Industries Confederation (Confindustria) that represents companies operating or interested to operate in the 70 Mediterranean countries, Africa and Middle East. Its mission is to monitor the development of market opportunities in every region.
