On supplying Egyptian gas to Cyprus

Egypt's Minister of Petroleum Sameh Fahmi received yesterday Cypriot Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism Yiorgos Lillikas and his accompanying delegation for talks on the possibility of exporting the Egyptian natural gas to Cyprus by 2009 as a result of using gas in power stations instead of fuel.
Fahmi said the Cypriot minister asked for signing a protocol of cooperation in all fields of energy especially in oil, gas and scientific research.
He added that articles of this proposed protocol will be studied and the Cypriot minister suggested the signing ceremony will be held in his country.
