Reem Khaddam pins great expectations of Damascus Women in Business Forum

The Women In Business (WIB) International Forum will be held at the patronage of Syria's First Lady Asma al-Assad in Damascus on May 20 -200 for the fist time in the Middle East.
The forum is held in association between the Syrian- British Society and MAWRED.
President of MAWRED Mrs. Reem Khaddam told ArabicNews.com that more than 400 business women and other delegated representatives from Arab states, the UK, Europe; Europe, the USA, India, Iran, Pakistan, African and Far East countries are taking part in the Forum.
She noted the importance of the forum to empower the Syrian women in business covering all sectors. She, in particular, noted the importance of the exhibition to be held on the sideline of the enabling delegates to display their goods and products a matter which will avail adding new business dimension to the Forum. She said in addition to Syria the exhibition will be attended by Italy, Tanzania, Ukraine and the Saudi Arabia.
She also noted that the ultimate objective is to make Syria's women experience known to other Arab and International peers and the importance of sharing knowledge and experiences.
She also noted the role of the Forum in giving the true bright picture of Syria as a place of tolerance and to reflect the intention of all sides involved to exchange expertise and derive benefits from one another's experience. Mrs. Khaddam indicated that Syrian woman has achieved large strides in the field of business. Her efforts have been networked in training courses inside and outside the country.
She underlined the importance of this event in encouraging bilateral trade relations between the UK and the developing corporate world of women in the Middle East and at the international level.
She explained that the forum will be an occasion to encourage the necessary dialogue between the participating delegations, so as to ensure better understanding and cooperation relations and boost partnership among peoples.
Introducing MAWRED's main objectives, Mrs. Khaddam said that it seeks to assist women in determining the feasibility of possible business projects and train women about business project development in the areas of planning, financing, strategy formulation administrative and legal issues.
She continued that MAWRED seeks also to employ the necessary tools and capacities, technical and consultancy, to transform businesswomen's projects into stories of success and help to develop and promote existing business women's projects through the application of modern technology and contemporary management practices, as well as helping business women eliminate obstacles and learn to manage emergency situations.
