Continued bloody attack in Iraq

These developments came after one bloody day in Iraq in which more than 80 Iraqis were killed and other 120 others were injured in a series of explosions in the northern part of the country and in Baghdad so that number of the Iraqis killed since the formation of the new government of Ibrahim al-Jaafari since two weeks has risen to 400.

The most violent of these explosions was carried out by a suicider in a booby trapped car amid a group of workers in the downtown of Tikrit and resulted in at leas killing 38 and injuring other 84. The police said that the explosion took place in a crowded station in the downtown of the city for cars working for Tikrit neighborhood areas.

In al-Hweijah town to the southern west of Karjouk to the north of Iraq, 25 persons were at least killed and other 33 injured when one suicider detonated an explosive belt amid a group of persons recruited to serve in the new Iraqi amry in the area, according to sources of the Iraqi army and medical sources. Ansar al-Sunnah army group in Iraq claimed responsibility on the Internet for the two attacks.

In the capital Baghdad, a third suicidor detonated his car near the police center in al-Doura quarters to the south of the city and this resulted at least to the killing of four civilians at least. The police said that the attacker was trying to reach the police center but detonated his car before reaching the target. Two police men and one civilian were killed in a fourth explosion in a booby trapped car targeted one Iraqi police vehicle in al-Mansour quarters in Baghdad.
