Malaysia's role in solving Arab-Israeli conflict highlighted
Syria-Malaysia, Politics, 5/11/2005
Malaysia underlined support to Syria's stances towards Arab just issues at the international forums, asserting desire to cooperate with Damascus through bilateral relations or through the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
In a meeting between Syrian Minister of Expatriates Buthaina Shaaban and Malaysian Foreign Minister Syed Hamid Albar Tuesday, both sides discussed the role that Malaysia, President of the NAM the OIC, could play in reaching a solution to the Arab Israeli conflict and highlighting Israeli practices in the occupied Arab lands. Minister Shaaban said "Syria has been supporting the international resolutions and its relations with Lebanon will remain distinguished and fraternal," pointing out that Syria has always been calling for the implementation of all international resolutions, particularly those related to the Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Arab lands and the achievement of a just and comprehensive peace in the Mideast.
