Nazif, French trade minister discuss development of Cairo underground, gas exports

Egypt's Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif received yesterday, French Minister of Foreign Trade Francois Loos, currently visiting Egypt, for talks on boosting trade exchange and joint investments.

Minister of Foreign Trade and Industry Rasheed Mohammed Rasheed who attended the meeting, told reporters that the two sides' talks dealt with increasing Egypt's natural gas exports to France, development of Cairo underground metro and local telephone and communications networks.

Loos said that his talks with Nazif were excellent and tackled the practical steps that should be taken in the future to increase the volume of trade exchange and joint investments.

He added that Egypt is a key country in the Middle East and South Mediterranean, and the French investments in Egypt hit about 1.1 billion euros, and France is willing to take part in Egypt's strategic projects.
