Moroccan NGO protests Israel's judaization attempts of Al-Qods
Morocco-Palestine, Politics, 5/10/2005

The Moroccan Association of Support to the Palestinian People Struggle staged on Monday a sit-in to denounce Israel's attempts to judaize the city of Al-Qods (Jerusalem) and destroy the holy mosque of Al Aqsa.

Activists from political parties, trade unions and non-governmental organizations condemned the attempts by Zionist extremist groups to desecrate the holy city, chanting slogans that condemn the construction of settlements and calling for the end of all normalization with the Jewish state.

Protesters also urged for mobilization to protect the city of Al-Quds and its identity and denounced the state terrorism practiced by Israel.

For a Palestinian top diplomat, this is a solidarity token with the Al-Aqsa mosque and a refusal of Zionist plans to build their temple on the Mosque land.

The demonstration, he went on, is also evidence that the Palestinian cause is a national one for Moroccans.

The Isreali right-wing Revava group has called on supporters to try to enter the Haram al-Sharif shrine- known to Jews as the Temple Mount, at the start of each Jewish calendar month. Israel has captured East Jerusalem in the 1967 war, but the historic compound holy to Muslims and Jews has remained in Muslim hands.
