Rafeydeen Qaida denies US killed 75 of its members

Al-Qaida Organization In al-Rafeydeen ( Mesopotamia) denied in a statement issued on the Internet what was announced by the American army that scores of its armed elements were killed in attacks in al-Qaem area near the borders with Syria.

The American army stressed the killing of 75 Iraqi and foreign gunmen during violent confrontations started 24 hours before and are still continuous in the western desert on the Syrian- Iraqi desert.

A statement by the American army said that the air and land forces are taking part in the operations which started as from the north west of al-Anbar governorate in a desert area to the north of the Euphrates, noting that the area where the operation is taking place is commonly used by what it called smugglers and foreign fighters.

The American army announced on Monday the killing of 6 gunmen and detention of other 54 in breaking in operations targeting the supporters of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi near al-Qaem area at the Syrian Iraqi borders.

In another development, four American soldiers were killed in fierce confrontations lasted four hours in Haditha to the north west of Baghdad. In a statement, the American army said that the gunmen used the patients in Haditha hospital as human shields during the fighting. A fifth American soldier was killed by the fire of gunmen in clashes in Samerra.
