CBE: $1.9 billion increase in Egyptian exports
Egypt, Economics, 5/9/2005
A report released by Central Bank of Egypt said that the Egyptian commodities exports went up to $6.4 billion from July to December 2004 with an increase worth $1.9 billion against the figures of the same period in 2003.
The rise is attributed to an increase of the petroleum products by 47 per cent and non- petroleum by 37.5 per cent.
The report added that U.S.A leads Egypt's partners with 28.1 per cent of the total trade exchange.
The report indicated that the current transactions balance had improved and scored a surplus of $2.9 billion against $ 2 billion last year.
This improvement came as a result of a surplus in the services and remittances balance.
