Arab-Australian meeting deplores foreign intervention in Lebanon

Arab-Australian national meeting condemned Thursday foreign interference in the Lebanese internal affairs. "Lebanese resistance's weapon is an internal Lebanese issue which is considered a national defense security of Lebanon's stability and sovereignty," The meeting said in a statement.

The statement called upon all Lebanese for being stick to the national unity as a main choice in order to build a unified Lebanon.

It also hailed at the pan-Arab role by the Syrian troops in the country saying "Syria has paid a lot of sacrifices to preserve Lebanon's stability and unity."

Meanwhile, more that 3000 person staged a sit in at the US embassy in Beirut to protest against US intervention in the Lebanese internal affairs and to support the Lebanese resistance.

The sit in was organized by youth organizations of the Lebanese national parties and forces.

Lebanese Foreign Minister Mahmoud Hammoud depicted on Thursday the UN statement on implementing resolution 1559 as, " reasonable and acceptable." In a statement, Hammoud said implementing 1559 would be the main focus of the talks Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in New York today noting that Mikati would also meet UN Special envoy to the Middle East Terji Roed Larsen.

Meantime, Chairman of the Syrian Socialists Nationalists Party in Lebanon Joubran Oureiji called yesterday the Lebanese to be stick to the national unity as to face challenges imposed on Lebanon and the region in general.

In a statement yesterday, Arbaji called Lebanese to clear their speeches from any form of hurting each other or raising riot as to boost the national Lebanese unity.
