Abdullah Bin Zayed in Gaza tomorrow
United Arab Emirates-Palestine, Politics, 5/6/2005

The Palestinian minister of information Nabil Shaath said on Thursday that the Minister of information in the United Arab Emirates UAE, Abdullah Bin Zayed, will be arriving tomorrow in Gaza to open Sheikh Zayed Residential city to the north of the sector and hand over 10 symbolic keys or property certificates for 10 Palestinian families.

Today, Friday, Bin Zayed will arrive in Ramullah where he will be meeting with the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and several Palestinian officials before heading for Gaza.

Shaath explained that the " Palestinian families which were chosen to get 736 flats are families whose houses were completely devastated by the Israeli occupation forces and got no compensation from UNRWA or families " we put under the name of emergency social cases as a family of a martyr whose member increases 6 children and of a bad economic situation."

Worthy mentioning that the housing project comes at the request of the late President of the United Arab Emirates UAE Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al-Nahyan who ordered to build the city on the lands of Beit Lahia to the north of Gaza to house Palestinian families which the Israeli occupation army destroyed their houses. The cost of the project was USD 250 million.
