Thursday's insurgent attacks in Iraq kill 42 persons

Sources of the Iraqi police said that at least 32 Iraqis were killed including several police and army members were killed and other 23 injured in the attacks which took place in various areas in Iraq on Thursday including two attacks in two booby trapped cars targeted the headquarters of the Iraqi army in the downtown of Baghdad.

One source in the Iraqi ministry of the interior said that 13 persons including four Iraqi soldiers were killed and other 15 injured in the suicide attack in a booby trapped car that targeted a gathering of volunteers near a base for the Iraqi army situated in al-Muthanna old airport in the downtown of Baghdad.
