Four simultaneous attacks kill 22 Iraqis

Iraqi police sources said that 22 Iraqis including several members of the army and the police were killed and other 23 were injured in the most recent series of attacks including two attacks by a booby trapped car targeted a headquarters for the Iraqi army in the downtown of Baghdad.
A source at the Iraqi ministry of the interior said that 13 persons including four Iraqi soldiers were killed and other 15 were injured in a suicide attack in a booby trapped car targeted a gathering of volunteers near a base for the Iraqi army situated in al-Muthanna airport in the downtown of Baghdad. This number was in a new revised result on casualties.
The source added that 8 police members were killed and other two injured in two separate accidents on Thursday morning when their car was attacked and burnt as a result in the two New Baghdad and al-Sedeyah areas to the south of Baghdad. The twin attack resulted in burning three police cars.
One booby trapped car targeted the house of the secretary of the ministry of the interior for the police affairs, Lt. Gen. Hikmat Mousa Suleiman, in al-Kafaat area to the west of Baghdad on Thursday morning. The attack resulted in killing one of Suleiman's guards and wounding other 6. The said official was not at his house when the attack took place.
These attacks came after the killing of 60 persons and injuring scores on Wednesday in an attack carried out by one suicidor in a group of volunteers for the police outside the office of the Kurdistani Democratic Party in Irbil. Ansar al-Sunnah Army group claimed responsibility for the attack and vowed to carry out more attacks against the Kurds especially against the party which is led by Masoud al-Barazani.
