Women in Business International Forum 2005

Under the auspices of Syria's First Lady Asmaa al-Assad, the World Women in Business Conference is to be Opened 21-22 May in Damascus under the motto "Participation by Skills and Knowledge in the World Economy."
The conference, which is held for the first time out of its HQ in London, will give an opportunity for 400 businesswomen and international delegations from all over the world to review women's active role in economy in the interest of the community as a whole.
The event will be held in association with the British - Syrian Society and Modernizing And Activating Women's Role in Economic Development (MAWRED) which is a Syrian non- profit organization dedicated to enhancing and activating the contribution of women in the development process.
The forum will focus on developing business networks through Europe and the Middle East to promote the economic potential of the region and its inhabitants through the growing community at economic empowered women.
The women in Business Annual International Forums continue to grow and develop as a network dedicated to enhance business performance between international communities. This is to be done through creating an acknowledged showcase for the diverse talents and products of all the delegates attending the forum.
The forum attracts owners and representatives of over 150 companies whose net value is in excess of $ 5 billion with genuine business to business interaction. Last year ( 2004) London's Forum resulted in known business between delegates of $ 10 million.
On the sideline of the forum a special exhibition area will be developed for delegates to display their goods and products thus adding a new business dimension to the Forum.
The two-day forum will include unique expert panels debating, informing and formulating strategies of "community development- social welfare or a business?""developing human potential- human resource training," "Developing and leading Global Businesses, Marketing and Branding," and Women in Entrepreneurship: the developing role of women in the work place." Other topics will be on the "Science of Public Relations;" "Developing Business with Environmental Benefits," " developments in healthcare: challenges, changes and opportunities," " It and new technology- a driver for business growth," " and the effects of international regulation and compliance on business development." The dedicated entrepreneurship training workshops will be on strategic business leadership; developing the business idea; competing in international markets; banking and financial planning and managing the work-life balance." The forum's program looks to continue the Women in Business Forum these with a more interactive and networking approach. A more skills based program with essential tools for long term entrepreneurship success, but with the addition of specialized sector panels to provide a more detailed industry perspective for all delegates.
Worthy mentioning that Women In Business is the premiere international businesswomen program aimed at encouraging bilateral trade between the UK and the developing corporate world of women in the Middle East and internationally.
The forum will also boost understanding among women in business through trade partnerships based on exchanging skills, and create a ground to market for Syria and investment opportunity in the country.
The forum is to include workshops on strategic administration of projects, competition in the world markets, banking planning and achieving balance between business and the personal life.
It will also work on developing business between Europe and the region to support it economically through the growing interaction among the skilled women in business, and signing trade deals.
