Syria to formulate a committee to check soldiers trespassing border with Lebanon

Syria announced on Tuesday the formation of a joint Syrian-Lebanese committee to inspect reports over some Syrian soldiers trespassing the Syrian-Lebanese borders in southern Bekaa valley, an official source said.

"The general commander of the army and armed forces in the Syrian Arab Republic has decided in coordination with the Lebanese army commandment to formulate a joint Syrian-Lebanese committee including officers and topography experts to inspect this issue and clarify the truth," The Syrian official source said in a statement.

The official announcement came in response to a question from the Syrian Arab News Agency SANA over what some media have circulated of news over some "Syrian soldiers transgression of the Syrian - Lebanese borders in the Deir al-Ashayer region to the east of Kfar Kouk in the southern Bekaa valley.
