Lebanese FM: Shabaa is Lebanese land

Lebanese Foreign Minister Mahmoud Hammoud on Wednesday said that the occupied Shabaa Farms are Lebanese territories, and the United Nations should reconsider this matter.

"Syria, in its letter sent to the UN Secretary General on completing its forces' withdrawal from Lebanon, stressed that Shabaa Farms are Lebanese territories," Hammoud, commenting on the UN chief report submitted to the Security Council, said in a statement.

He added the Lebanese national resistance is not a militia as listed in the international report, stressing that the resistance defends the occupied Lebanese lands in the south.

Meanwhile, Head of Lebanese Najadah Party, Mostafa Hakim, said that after Syrian troops had concluded its peace mission in the country, Lebanon became more than before in need of the Syrian assistance. "We have confidence that Syria who constitutes the strategic depth of Lebanon will remain standing by Lebanon politically and economically" Hakim added in a statement.
