Morocco, Mexico resolved to boost cultural cooperation

Morocco and Mexico have voiced resolve to back projects able to reinforce bilateral cooperation in the field of culture.
In a joint declaration, signed in Mexico City Tuesday, by Morocco's visiting Minister of Culture, Mohamed Achaari, and the Chairwoman of the Mexican Council of Culture and Arts (CONCACULTA), Ms. Sari Bermudez, the two parties convened to further implant the culture of each country in the other, and to promote the protection and preservation of cultural property and heritage.
They have, in this respect, agreed to encourage the translation and co-editing of literary works in both countries, reinforce cooperation in filmmaking industry, especially productions destined for educational and cultural ends.
During his visit to Morocco, mid February 2005, Mexican president Vincente Fox had stressed the need to reinforce cultural cooperation between the Latin-American country and North African kingdom.
On February 10, 2004 an agreement providing for education and cultural cooperation was signed between Morocco and Mexico.
Achaari started Monday a working visit to Mexico (April 25 through 30). He is expected to meet with several Mexican officials.
The minister will also inaugurate an exhibit on Moroccan arts and paintings, titled "Trazos" features.
