Mohammed Shiwi: Cotton export contracts 2.610 million kantars, earn $ 243 million

Egyptian cotton export contracts to 32 countries reached 2.610 million kantars of various grades, earning some $243 million up till the end of last week, the 31st week of the export season.

Mohammad Shiwi, Government Commissioner with the Cotton Export Federation, said only last week, 16,400 kantars of cotton was contracted for exports at a total of $1.8 million.

Shiwi, also Director of the International Trade Point said that quantities of cotton already shipped to various destinations reached 2.036 million kantars to 29 countries, accounting for 78 percent of the total cotton export contracts.
