UN chief calls on Syria, Lebanon to cooperate with UN team over withdrawal completion

During the few next hours a UN team is expected in Beirut to investigate the Syrian withdrawal. The UN secretary general Kofi Annan has called on both Damascus and Beirut to cooperate with the team.

The UN secretary general asked his team to complete his mission as soon as possible. Annan submitted on Tuesday his report to the UN Security Council over the implementation of UN resolution 1559.

Meantime, talks of the Lebanese parliamentarians at the Lebanese parliament concentrated on the general elections. The Lebanese parliament met to discuss the ministerial statement on the ground of which the new government will win the confident of the council. Miqati submitted a ministerial statement that includes the mechanism of making the elections at its due time set in May.
