RAJA reaches last eight of African Champions League

RAJA advanced through to the final stages of the African Champions League, while FAR stumbled in Tunisia.
At the North African showdown with Etoile Sahel of Tunisia, Rabat's FAR, who in 1985 became the first African champion from Morocco, bade farewell to the Champions League after a defeat 2-0.
On their part, The Green Eagles of RAJA clinched a ticket to the group phase of the African Champions League after defeating Africa Sports of C™te d'Ivoire 1-0.
El-Haimer scored the only goal of the game at the 90th minute.
Other teams qualified over the weekend are ASEC Abidjan of C™te d'Ivoire, Zamalek and Al-Ahli of Egypt, Esperance of Tunisia, champions Enyimba of Nigeria and Ajax Cape Town of South Africa.
These teams will be divided into two groups. The play off is on a home and away basis in a league format and the winners of the two groups are to contest the Champions League final. The group stage kicks off in June.
