Riyadh finds no neeed for mediation between Washington and Damascus
Saudi Arabia-USA, Politics, 4/26/2005

The advisor for the Saudi crown prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, Adel al-Jubeir, said he sees no significance for Riyadh's mediation between the USA and Syria.

He added Syria has met its obligations before the international community and the Lebanese government is making its commitment towards organizing the elections in the due time.

This came while the Saudi crown prince held talks with the American President George W. Bush dealt with the increase of fuel prices in the USA and increasing the Saudi oil production. The two sides reviewed issues on Lebanon, the peace in the Middle East, in addition to the question of reforms in the Middle East and fighting what is called terrorism.

News reports said that the advisor of the White House for national security Stephen Hadley said in a press conference held at Bush's farm in Texas that the talks were positive and constructive and were held in atmospheres of friendship.

Hadley added that a joint committee was formed between the US state secretary Condoleezza Rice and her Saudi counterpart Saud al-Faisal to discuss external issues and drawing bilateral agreements at the diplomatic level.
