Khouri to boost Syria-Lebanon relations

Secretary General of the Syrian-Lebanese Higher Council Nasri Khouri on Sunday called for boosting relations between the two states in the interest of the two peoples.
"Both countries should continue activating the joint projects as they are the factor of a real link between both economies .. in addition, both peoples should open channels of dialogue, cultural and mental interaction between them," Khouri said in a lecture given at Dar al-Baath in Damascus.
Chairman of the Syrian-Lebanese Business Council Rateb al-Shalah, for his part, stressed the importance of the Syrian-Lebanese relations, particularly in the foreign trade sector.
Meanwhile, Member of Lebanese Amal Movement Politburo MP Ali Hasan Khalil described the Syrian-Lebanese relations as strong. "Relations between both countries will not stop at the Syrian Army withdrawal from Lebanon .. what is really needed now is to preserve and keep these ties strong," Khalil said in a speech in the Lebanese southern town of Nabatiyah.
