22 Iraqis killed in Baghdad, Takrit explosions

Iraqi police sources said that at least 15 persons were killed in two explosions near a mosque for the Shiite in Baghdad.
The sources added that 57 persons were injured near "ahl al-Beit " (the prophet's family) mosque in al-Shula quarters in Baghdad. One witness said that several ambulances were seen hurrying to the place which is situated in a crowded area.
A police official said that a bomb went off at the roadside and when people gathered to inspect the consequences of the explosion, a suicid attacker detonated his car in the lines of the gathered people.
The attack came hours after blowing up of two booby trapped cars in Tikrit in which seven persons were including four police men and other 37 were injured most of them are police members.
Al-Jihad al-Qaida organization in Mesopotamia, which is led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, claimed responsibility in a statement on the Internet for the two explosions which took place on Sunday morning and targeted a police academy and the joint coordination center between the Iraqi and the American forces in the city.
