Iraq: residential units for the Palestinians who were displaced after the collapse of Baghdad

One Palestinian diplomat in Baghdad announced on Friday that the UNHCR, under the supervision of the Iraqi ministry of immigration and the expatriates, rented housing units for the Palestinians who were expelled from their houses after the fall of Baghdad.
The diplomat who did not want to be named said "the UNHCR rented housing units in Baghdad at the supervision of the ministry of emigration and housing and placed in it the Palestinian families who were expelled from houses they inhabited since 1948 until the fall of the Iraqi regime," two years ago. The diplomat added that "Haifa sport club (the municipalities areas to the east of Baghdad) where the 45 Palestinian families had moved after expelling them was evacuated completely."
Worthy mentioning that some 30,000 Palestinians are living in Baghdad and its quarters. Families were expelled from their houses after the occupation of Baghdad, some 260 families settled in a formerly football stadium.
