Iraqi president is frustrated over the delay in announcing the iraqi government
Iraq, Politics, 4/23/2005
Amid drastic security conditions in Iraq, coupled by the repeated failures to form the government, the Iraqi President Jalal al-Talibani expressed his frustration over the delay of announcing the new Iraqi government which he attributed to the differences over the distribution of ministerial bags.
Following his meeting with the national dialogue council which includes Sunni parties on Friday, he said he cannot set a time to announce the government.
He added in a press conference held on Friday that he had agreed with the list of the United Iraqi Coalition supported by Ali al-Seistani, which won the Iraqi elections, to form a national unity government.
Talibani met on Friday with the new national front to achieve national reconciliation and form a national unity government.
He said "If the Sunni Arabs will be given their rights they will not boycott the government." He added he had convinced the national dialogue council not to boycott the new government and they promised him that. The Iraqi President also urged Iraq's neighbors to help him challenging terrorism.
