Palestine-Israel, Politics, 4/22/2005
Mufti of Jerusalem Oakrama Sabri has appealed to the Islamic countries to shoulder their responsibilities in repelling the Israeli settlers from storming al-Aqsa mosque on 9th of May following their failure to do so early this month.
In an interview published today by UAE daily, Al-Khalij, Sabri added that there were 30 Israeli organizations trying to storm al-Aqsa mosque in coordination with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
He warned against the repetition of what was happened at al-Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron i.e. the dividing of al-Aqsa.
On the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, Oakrama said that the aim of the Israeli withdrawal was to turn Gasa into one big prison surrounded by the Israeli troops.
