Lebanese stress cling to resistance's weapon

Lebanese national parties and forces meeting demanded the new government Thursday to issue a ministerial statement that dictates to total commitment to al-Taif Accord as well as distinguished relations with sisterly Syria.
"It is so important that the statement includes an obvious stance towards our main issues represented by attachment to resistance's weapon until liberating all occupied Lebanese lands," the national parties and forces said in a statement issued just after their regular meeting.
The statement renewed rejection to the UN 1559 resolution and demanded implementing the UN 194 which guarantees the Palestinians' "right of return."
It also requested the new government to pay more attention to economic and social situation in the country and forming a new electoral law based on theTaif accord.
The statement pointed out at Qana massacre committed by the Israeli occupation before the whole world, expressing concern for not condemning Israel for that.
It also stressed the importance of going on in the way of uncovering reality of the horrible crime that claimed the life of former Prime Minister Rafic Hariri.
On the other hand, religious scholars gathering in Amel mountain renewed rejection to every foreign interference in the Lebanese internal affairs.
In a statement, the gathering called for being committed to the national firm principles and enhancing the Lebanese national unity.
The statement saluted the Lebanese resistance, demanding preserving its weapons to deter any Israeli aggression against Lebanon.
