US warns its citizens against terrorist operations in Tunis

The US Department Of State warned against the dangers of what it called terrorist attacks in Tunisia, but without defining the sources of these attacks and who stands behind it.
In a statement, the ministry said that the government of the US received strong signals that persons are preparing a nearby terrorist acts in Tunisia. Though the statement did not indicate "further information on certain goals and dates and the form of the aggressions or abilities of those persons," but linked the likely date with the "approaching" prophet's birth anniversary which is celebrated in the third week of the current month.
The statement spoke of "terrorists that did not make a distinction between official targets and civilians." It called on the American citizens to be very cautious, while all installations belong to the American government in the Arab states in north Africa were put in a state of utmost alert.
Worthy mentioning that the Tunisian Jarba area witnessed in April 2002 explosions that targeted a Jewish synagogue and resulted in killing 18 persons with the majority of them foreign tourists. Al-Qaida organization claimed responsibility for the attack.
The Tunisian President Zine al-Abidin Ben Ali extended an invitation to the Israeli Prime minister Ariel Sharon to take part in the second summit for the information society due to be held in November in Tunis.
