Moroccan car thieves network dismantled in Spain

Spanish police has recently dismantled, in the region of Alicante (East) an eleven-member gang specialized in stealing cars and selling them in Morocco, police sources said.

The gang members would steal cars from the regions of Alicante and Murcia, and fit them with falsified licence plates and forged documents before selling them illegally in Morocco.

The police investigation led to the confiscation of four stolen cars registered in Spain and Italy, in addition to a car owned by one of the network members.

The police has instantly launched an investigation for possible links with similar networks in Italy.
