Lebanon-Syria, Politics, 4/19/2005
Chairman of Lebanese Resistance Bloc at the Parliament 'Wafaa' Mohammad Raad said the ministerial statement of the forthcoming Lebanese government should include a clear and frank stance towards boosting distinguished relations with Syria as well as protecting resistance.
Following a meeting with Lebanese Premier-designate Najib Miqati yesterday, Raad expressed his group's readiness to cooperate with the government within those principles.
For his part, Member of the Syrian National Social Party, Marwan Fares, underscored the distinguished relations between Syria and Lebanon, saying "We underlined the implementation of the Taif Accord and protection of resistance as the basis for Lebanon's national unity and strength."
