Egypt, China transport cooperation agreements

Egypt and China signed a number of agreements in the maritime and railway transport domains in Beijing on Tuesday.
The agreements, signed by Transport Minister Essam Sharaf and Chinese officials, provide for setting up a terminal in eastern Port Said to serve the Middle East and the North Africa region.
The two sides agreed on forming an Egyptian-Chinese higher committee to facilitate implementing projects in the transport domain.
Sharaf arrived in Beijing on Thursday, leading a delegation grouping representatives of the land and maritime transport sectors to get acquainted with China's experience in the transport field.
The Egyptian delegation held talks with Chinese officials on the implementation of the first stage of Cairo Underground Metro third line.
