Lebanese personalities reject foreign interference, stress the importance of the Taif accord

Lebanese Interior Minister resignate Sulaiman Franjeh stressed Thursday attachment to the Lebanese national line, calling for enhancing national unity in order to form a new Lebanese government to pave the way for establishing the election.

"Ain al-Teineh meeting represents the national political mainstay, so we will not allow losing it," Franjeh said in a press conference, renewing rejection to every foreign interference in the Lebanese internal affairs.

The minister expressed satisfaction of current investigation into the assassination of former prime minister Rrafic Hariri, "this investigation will be displayed to the international investigation committee," he added.

For his part former Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Hussin al-Hussini said that UN 1559 resolution put Lebanon face to face with many problems as well as it contradicts with the Taif Accord. "The Taif Accord helped a lot in realizing stability in the country and in liberating a great part of South Lebanon," al-Hussini stressed, rejecting any foreign interference in the Lebanese internal affairs.

Meanwhile, MP Hussin al-Haj Hassan underlined the importance of the Lebanese resistance's weapon in confronting the Israeli occupation. In a statement the MP asserted that national dialogue is the only way that guarantees protection for Lebanon, stressing the importance of forming a new Lebanese government.
