Syrian security forces seize 15kg of cocaine with a woman
Syria, Local, 4/14/2005

Syrian security forces arrested recently a foreign woman with 14 kg of cocaine when she tried to smuggle them to an Arab country via Damascus International airport.

An official source at the interior ministry said in a statement to SANA today the 14 kg of pure cocaine were seized with the woman, who is not identified, in a secret cache in a big bag belonging to her.

The source said the woman claimed she came to Syria to buy jewels and return back to build a joint investment project with an Arab man, who gave her the bag that the cocaine was in.

The arrest came after the security forces in Syria got information on an international network smuggling drugs from a foreign country to an Arab sisterly state by air aboard a European airline, the source noted.
