Explosions in Baghdad, Zeibari expects new government shortly

One Iraqi medical source said that two civilians were injured in a booby trapped car explosion on Wednesday, when an American convoy was running on the airport highway to the west of the capital, and resulted in burning two American vehicles and several sedan cars.

Other four were injured when an explosive went off in one American procession in al-Amereyah area in Baghdad.

News reports quoted sources in the Iraqi police as saying that 12 members of the oil guards including two officers were killed and other three injured in a bomb explosion in Badwan area to the north of Karkouk city.

Lt. gen. Mourhan Youssef, the commander of Karkouk police said that the policemen are working in the contingent of protecting the north oil company and they were killed as they were trying to dismantle a bomb.

A bomb explosion in Palestine street, in the east of the capital, resulted in burning an American truck for fuel transport. Witnesses said that two American soldiers were seen fleeing the truck before its explosion.

A military vehicle was destroyed in a bomb explosion targeting an American military procession while running in the new Baghdad area in the south east of Baghdad. The American forces were deployed in the attack area leaving behind the destroyed vehicle.

A Maj. Gen. in the Iraqi police and his driver were injured by the fire of unidentified gunmen in al-Doura area to the south of the capital while heading for the headquarters of the ministry of the interior.

On the other hand, an armed group calling itself Iraqi Mujahidee Khalq said it downed an American reconnaissance plane in al-Zeidan area to the west of Baghdad.
